KASE determined exchange repo market leaders of August and initial 8 months of 2008
/KASE. September 5. 08/ - Kazakhstan Stock Exchange (KASE) determined
leaders of exchange repo market for August 2008.

The table below specifies 10 most active repo market operators (headquarters of
all companies are located in Almaty). The position of each trade participant has
been expressed in settlement currency - tenge. In July the stake of the "active
ten" accounted for 45.8 % of this exchange market sector turnover.

The "top-10" newcomers relative to July 2008 became Halyk Savings Bank of
Kazakhstan, Bank CenterCredit and NURBANK, having driven out from the "top-
10":

- BTA Bank (sixth in July).

- Eurasian Bank (seventh in July).

- Asia Broker Services (tenth in July).

Totally, 72 companies, excluding the National Bank, concluded repo deals in
August 2008.

The table below indicates the most active operators of repo market for initial 8
months of 2008. 76 companies, excluding the National Bank of the Republic of
Kazakhstan, concluded deals during this period. The stake of the "top-10"
accounted for 40.6 % of the repo market turnover.

BTA Securities  - Subsidiary of BTA Bank BTA Securities; BCC Invest - Subsidiary
of Bank CenterCredit; Temirbank - Subsidiary of Bank TuranAlem.

Aggregate gross-turnover of trades (sum of purchased and sold instruments on
repo opening and closing transactions) has been used in calculations. At that,
all repo deals regardless of the sector (automatic repo or nego deals method)
and repo subjects (government and corporate securities) have been taken into
account.

KASE draws attention that the exchange repo market operators have been
ranked, as in the tables, according to the KASE internal document "Methodology
of Calculation of Activity Indicators of Members of Kazakhstan Stock
Exchange Inc." (Methodology), effective January 1, 2008
