Food prices in December 2011 compared with November 2010 increased by 9.1%

/IRBIS, January 4, 2012/ - Food prices in Kazakhstan in December 2011 compared with December 2010 increased by 9.1%, was indicated in the report released today by the Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan on Statistics. As reported, in December 2011 compared with the corresponding month in 2010 prices of cereals rose by 43.3%, dairy products - by 8,9%, oils and fats - by 8.3%, confectionary - 8.1 %, bakery and pastry products - 7.1%, pasta - 6.8%, coffee, tea and cocoa - 6.6%, flour - by 5.7%, alcoholic beverages - by 5%, and bread - 2.5%. Lower prices noted for sugar - by 12.7%, fruits and vegetables - by 3.5%. The price increase for meat and meat products during this period amounted to 23.2%. The level of prices for mutton was higher by 30.3%, horse meat - by 21.5%, meat products - by 12.9%, pork - by 12.4%, poultry - by 6.5%.
